Crossing-over with John Edwards

i`m not sure if any on this board has seen the show " crossing-over with john edwards" but for some strange reason the show fascinates me.

if you have not seen the show its basically a guy who does readings for people in a studio audience who have had loved ones die, 'crossing-over' to the next realm.

he then connects with these dead people offering up clues to their passing and only personal things that close family would know about .

Hey Mary,

My experiences revolve around the Ouija board. Back in the very early eighties I met a woman (a self-proclaimed witch) who I dated a few times. On our first date she offered to bring out the Ouija. To which I said sure (I only cared about one thing and whatever it took, ya know?) Well, at first I thought she was moving the plastic thing but very soon I realized she couldn?t have known about the things is was speaking about. It was directed to me personally. Well, I went and got my own Ouija board the very next day and got into it whole hog. I am convinced due to my experiences over several months of experimenting with the Ouija that is not a psychological phenomenon. But something else drives the ?moving? piece.

I thought I have saved some of those stories from other posts onto my hard drive but I can?t seem to find them now. If you like I could tell some of my experiences.

Y?all can debate back and forth as to who is and who isn?t a fake when it comes to who can and who cannot speak to the dead. But, I have experienced first hand the other dimension (many years ago), and whatever it is, is does exist. What the hell it is I do not know. But there, it IS nevertheless. Dead loved ones or demons? I dunno. Maybe something none of us have even considered yet. But one thing is for sure, there is something there. And to my personal experience it ain?t very nice.

i don't know if i am am a typical brit, but i guess i am a fairly typical rags to riches storey.

i have just managed to finish paying off my house at age 32 after growing up a pioneer penny-less until 22, meaning now i can save for the future and buy stuff i want, but until now it's been a strugle.

Over here across the pond we have a pretty good thing going. There?s much money to made and many ways to spend it! The thing is, when you drive down the Interstate on the way in to work each day there is almost nothing but new cars around you. Everywhere you go there are new houses going up. (And I mean four and five bedroom houses with full basements.) Wherever you go there are a Publix, a Home Depot, an Eckerds, a Wal-Mart, and a Blockbuster (video store). Cash flow yes, cash saving no. The truth be known, most folks are probably about four paychecks away from being homeless. I used to get a little jealous when I?d see a guy in a Jag or a Benz but I have learned that he?s probably just as tapped out financially as I am. Just got a little more cash flow than me, is all.

I read the opening page of a finical advisement book many years ago that said, " The first step to being independently wealthy is NOT making more money. It?s spending less." Yea, but try and do that when you can barley afford to pay your mortgage and need a car and the bank is willing to give you another thirty thousand dollars for that new car! It?s kinda weird.

We Americans want it NOW, so we charge it and wind up paying about 25% more for the thing we gotta have right away, instead of saving up for it. And I?m just as guilty of it as anyone else. My parents never used a credit card and always paid cash for everything they had. My dad never made a lot of money and my mom never worked. Yet, they always managed to have saved thousands of dollars somehow.

Still, I DO believe we here in America are rich, cuz we ARE by world standards. I probably make more money at my little job (about 50k a year), than what 80% of the world?s population of working people make at their jobs, around the globe, and I?m just middle class here.

"You know Steve, 1975 is just around the corner." Uh, mom again.

"1975 is a marked year in human history!" All JW?s pre-1975.

"I never believed 1975 was the End if this system of Things." Any JW who lived through it and is STILL a JW.

"I don?t have to read anything other than the Society?s publications to know the truth."

"Well, he must have committed some kind of immorality if he got disfellowshipped."

"Disassociating ourselves from those who have been disfellowshipped is an act of love!"

"Oh, I heard he went to Bethel!"

"She?s one of the Anointed, you know."

"I never want to displease Jehovah." Translation; I never want to displease the WBTS.

"Oh no, we don?t want to change your religion!" Lie presented at the door.

"You?ll get a deadly disease if you get a blood transfusion!"

"Well, actually Jesus wasn?t born in December." Probably accurate but almost always spoken in a condescending, I know it all tone.

"Science and history proves Jesus died on a stake." Uh, bullshit.

"Reading the Awake magazine for four years is the equivalent to getting a college education!" Mom, once again.

"(Born again) Christians get all emotional when they sing their songs."

"She?s too worldly minded to make a good wife." Mom again. This time in a way though, she was right. The girl was a slut. She banged my JW elder brother-in-law and destroyed my family in the process.

These are but a few that I recall hearing and experiencing JW?s say growing up amongst them.

well, i just saw the movie yesterday and i'll tell ya something.

considering the reviews about how moving this movie had been for so many people, i secretly was hoping that seeing this movie might help me with my current state of disbelief and apathy about the person of jesus.

but sadly it had only the opposite effect.

well, i just saw the movie yesterday and i'll tell ya something.

considering the reviews about how moving this movie had been for so many people, i secretly was hoping that seeing this movie might help me with my current state of disbelief and apathy about the person of jesus.

but sadly it had only the opposite effect.

Well, I just saw the movie yesterday and I'll tell ya something. Considering the reviews about how moving this movie had been for so many people, I secretly was hoping that seeing this movie might help me with my current state of disbelief and apathy about the person of Jesus. But sadly it had only the opposite effect. When Jesus had the flashbacks in the movie of telling his disciples about how no one comes to the Father except through him, I thought this guy must have had balls the size of grapefruits to say such things.

As a JW I had the compassion sucked outta me like every other JW I guess. That Jesus died on a cross for the sins of mankind never made me feel anything. I always thought like, well, that was his job to come here and save the world. He was doing what he was supposed to do. As a born again Christian I never gained any more empathy for Jesus? death than as a JW. I mean I really tried and all that, cuz my Christina friends would just seem to sigh when people would talk about the crucifixion. Almost pavlovian like. I felt kinda jealous about that. How come I couldn?t get all goose bumpy about it too?

I just don?t anymore what I believe when it comes to the Bible and Jesus and all that stuff. I was raised to believe I had the truth about what I believed in, as a JW. Then when I found out that was all lies, I moved on to the Christian experience. Now I?m beginning wonder if that whole thing isn?t just more of the same, just a variation on a theme. Jesus is so ingrained into us that I really wonder just how much decision process goes on in most people whether to believe in him or not.

Well, I can?t deny that this one person has had more of a profound effect on the world and the history of mankind (and not all of it good either) than any other. But that isn?t necessarily proof of divinity. And that his legacy has lasted for two thousand years doesn?t necessarily prove anything either. Longevity doesn?t prove truth.

I know God exists and I know He loves me. That, He has proven to me over and over again. So, do I need Jesus to get to Him? Really? It seems illogical to me for that to be true.

The movie, "The Passion of the Christ", has left me un-impassioned.
